Possible course outcomes:-
If you come onto the course with a positive attitude, reasonable background knowledge, teaching experience and good sailing and teaching skills then there is no reason why you shouldn't pass. If for any reason however you do not meet the criteria set then the alternative outcome is that you may receive an action plan. This will be written and give clear guidance on the items you are required to complete prior to being issued with your SI certificate. These may be items such as brushing up on your background theory knowledge, gaining confidence (i.e. going away and assisting an existing SI with their role), improving your sailing skills etc.
Whatever the action plan may be, it will be personal to you, it will be discussed and agreed with you and every attempt will be made to make sure all the aims are achievable and reasonable.
Throughout the course you will receive constructive debriefs and input from your coaches; so there should be no point during the course where you feel unsure as to the level of your performance. There are two main 1:1 debriefs that occur mid-course and end of course. However, if for any reason you do feel unsure inbetween these main debriefs, then please feel free to approach us and ask for our input.
We are here to support you through every step of the process.
We look forward to meeting you on the 8th October at 9am.
Kind regards,
Candi Abbott
